In August 2005, the Israeli Defense Forces were given the task of forcibly removing all remaining Israeli settlers from the Gaza Strip. During the controversial five-day evacuation, filmmaker Yoav Shamir had multiple film crews document the key events of the disengagement by intimately following soldiers and settlers. What results is a moving and darkly comic documentary account, which some critics have likened to Rashomon.
"Shamir shows a very canny eye for telling and bizarre details" - Variety.
Festivals: The film premiered in 2005 in IDFA, and made its North American premier at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006.
